Leaf Deformation Taking Into Account Fluid Flow

چکیده
This paper proposes a method for animating leaf structural deformation considering the leaf water content and its change due to evaporation. To achieve this we embed a massspring system into a mesh representing the leaf, and couple the mass-spring parameters with a simulation representing the fluid flow and evaporation occurring in the leaf. This chain of events aims to simulate the natural process that connects the leaf structural deformation to the water amount in the cells through the turgor pressure. To the best of our knowledge no existing method considers this phenomenon in the simulation of leaf wilting in computer graphics.

Hydromagnetic Couette flow of class-II and heat transfer through a porous medium in a rotating system with Hall effects
Steady hydromagnetic Couette flow of class-II of a viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluid through a porous medium in a rotating system taking Hall current into account is investigated. Heat transfer characteristics of the fluid flow are considered taking viscous and Joule dissipations into account. It is noticed that there exists flow separation at the moving plate in the sec...
متن کاملSimulating Plant Color Aging Taking into Account the Sap Flow in the Venation
This paper presents a method for simulating color aging of leaves. Our technique is inspired by natural processes. We consider the flow of fluid in the leaf, and its evaporation through stomata. To model this, we use three maps describing the stomata and venation distributions and the fluid flow, respectively. We conduct a simulation that uses these maps to update the amount of fluid sourced in...

Viscous Fluid Flow-Induced Nonlocal Nonlinear Vibration of Embedded DWBNNTs
In this article, electro-thermo nonlocal nonlinear vibration and instability of viscous-fluid-conveying double–walled boron nitride nanotubes (DWBNNTs) embedded on Pasternak foundation are investigated. The DWBNNT is simulated as a Timoshenko beam (TB) which includes rotary inertia and transverse shear deformation in the formulation. Considering electro-mechanical coupling, the nonlinear govern...
متن کاملFluid membranes in hydrodynamic flow fields: Formalism and an application to fluctuating quasi-spherical vesicles in shear flow
The dynamics of a single fluid bilayer membrane in an external hydrodynamic flow field is considered. The deterministic equation of motion for the configuration is derived taking into account both viscous dissipation in the surrounding liquid and local incompressibility of the membrane. For quasispherical vesicles in shear flow, thermal fluctuations can be incorporated in a Langevin-type equati...
